Restock the ReStore The first annual Restock the ReStore Big Event is organized and coordinated by the ReStore Committee within Habitat for Humanity. Habitat Restore’s event is designed to encourage people to do some spring cleaning and create awareness to recycle and donate to Habitat ReStore. Paul Hegg, Hegg Companies is the 2008 ReStore Committee Chair. Habitat for Humanity of Greater Sioux Falls (HFHGSF), an independent affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization. The 2007-08 Habitat for Humanity President is Eric Lundin, Home Federal Bank. DATES: Sunday, April 20, 2008 to Saturday, April 26 Held same week as Earth Day (April 22) and Arbor Day (April 25) RESTORE HOURS: Monday – Friday from 9am - 6pm Saturday from 9am - 3pm EVENT LOCATION: 721 East Amidon Street in Sioux Falls HOW TO HELP: Make a difference in the community and environment by donating to the ReStore • Clean out your basement or garage • Donate new & used materials from your remodeling project • Upgrade appliances... donate used-working appliances WE ACCEPT: building materials, tools, lumber, appliances, flooring, lighting, cabinets, countertops, sinks, faucets and showers. HIGHLIGHTS: Open to the public, no fee, free popcorn and free parking. Since 2002, Habitat ReStore has diverted more than 500 tons (1,000,000 lbs.) away from our local landfill. The income generated from the project goes specifically toward expanding the building program of the local Habitat affiliate. ReStore recycles overstocked, discontinued, new and used building materials donated by manufacturers, stores, contractors and individuals. These donated items are sold to the public or used in construction of Habitat houses. All revenue from sales goes to our local affiliate in support of our building program. |
