When you think of volunteering with Habitat for Humanity, you probably think of the physical labor that goes into building a house. It's true, Habitat for Humanity does rely heavily on volunteers to do this type of work. There's much more to Habitat, however, and volunteers are needed to fill a variety of supportive roles. No matter what your skills and interests are, there is surely an opportunity that's right for you!
The ReStore is an outlet for used and surplus building materials which have been donated to Habitat for Humanity. The ReStore stocks everything from windows and doors to cabinets and trim, and much, much more. The ReStore relies heavily on volunteers to help keep the shelves stocked, the cash registers running, and the building open. The ReStore provides a casual, safe, fun environment in which to work daily, weekly, or monthly.

Family Advocates serve a crucial role in the Habitat ministry by mentoring our Partner Families as they work their way through the Habitat program toward homeownership. The Family Support Committee provides training, support, and structure for our Family Advocates and our Habitat Partner Families. An orientation and training session for those who might be interested in serving as Family Advocates or on the Family Support Committee are held periodically. Call to sign up!

Office Volunteers |

Volunteer on an as-needed basis to assist us in the office with general receptionist needs, copying, preparing mailings, reminder phone calls, running errands, etc. Please call the volunteer coordinator for more information.Our ministry on the work sites is supported through a rich variety of committees, most of which meet once a month. Call the office or send in a brochure to volunteer for any of our standing committees: Church Relations; Construction; Family Selection; Family Support; Fund Raising; Public Relations; Safety; Site Selection; or to help us with our newsletter or to maintain a website!

Sign up to take refreshments to our Saturday morning work sessions to get the feel of Habitat's work and enjoy fellowship with our volunteers and Partner Family members as they work together to build houses, hope, and community.

Build "Sponsorship" |

Your church, company, or even family can "sponsor" all or part of a Habitat house by providing financial support, "sweat" support, or both, for the entire building project or a portion of the project. Full financial sponsorships require approximately $50,000, but groups often "partner" to sponsor a house, or take on a specific portion of the house (e.g., the basement, the framing, the drywall, the roof, etc.). Call the office and we'll send materials or set up an appointment to discuss full or partial house sponsorships. |
