Volunteer

Habitat Sioux Falls provides hands-on volunteer opportunities in three main areas: construction, NR, and ReStore.

Email or call Jessica, Volunteer Coordinator, at 605-274-6292 to ask questions or sign-up.

If you’d like to sign-up as a volunteer, but don’t yet have a shift or work site, do it here.

Construction

Construction involves all phases of new home construction or rehab with the exception of the features we subcontract like roofing and electrical.

NR

NR stands for Neighborhood Revitalization.  We paint, perform minor repairs and do some yard work. Consider it home preservation.

ReStore

The ReStore offers two volunteer roles: cashier and stock room.

Cashier – Work in our ReStore, selling donated building materials to the general public. The three hour shifts are usually worked once a week, but can be worked once a month, depending on your availability. Here’s our CASHIER CALENDAR. After signing up, call Caryn at 605-330-1950. Training is required of our new cashiers. Caryn offers the training and will schedule it.

Stock Room – This opportunity allows for more flexibility and includes receiving, repairing and preparing donated items for sale in the ReStore. Here’s the STOCK ROOM CALENDAR. After signing up, call Caryn at 605-274-6283. She will coordinate orientation.

Committees

Habitat Sioux Falls works with five committees to aid in driving our mission and decision making. The committees are Construction, Family Selection, Finance, Fund Development, and ReStore. If wielding a pen and keyboard is more your style, send us an email to get more information.
